The crucial historical epoch in which Marina Tsvetaeva was destined to live, family upbringing, education and, above all, a huge talent and early awareness of herself as a great poet became the reason that, being unconditionally recognized in the literary workshop, she remained unknown to a wide range of readers for a long time.

According to her daughter, Ariadna Sergeevna Efron: "Having broken away from Russia, without joining the emigration, Marina gradually became like an island separated from her native mainland - by the course of History and her own destiny. She became lonely, like an island, with all of his (her own!) undiscovered treasures...". And Marina Tsvetaeva herself, as if confirming her daughter's words, wrote to Boris Pasternak in 1927: "... my deep conviction is that if I had been published in Russia, everyone would have understood me. <...> ... there is an empty place in Russia now, rightfully mine...".

Marina Tsvetaeva's works began to be published in her homeland only in the 1960s, and in the 1980s the poet's prophecy began to come true, her poems "it was her turn."

This collection of Marina Tsvetaeva's works includes all her poetry collections arranged in chronological order, as well as poems not included in them. Such an organization of texts makes it possible to perceive them in the way that the poet himself intended. In addition, the collection includes selected poems and plays, as well as Tsvetaeva's autobiographical and diary prose, memoirs of contemporaries, articles and essays.
