The collection includes the comedy by Alexander Sergeevich Griboyedov (1795-1829) "Woe from Wit" — one of the peaks of Russian drama and poetry, a magnificent satire on Moscow society at the beginning of the XIX century, and, as an appendix, its most famous continuation — a conversation in verse by Evdokia Petrovna Rostopchina (1811-1858) "Chatsky's Return to Moscow, or Meeting familiar faces after twenty-five years of separation."
The book is decorated with illustrations by talented Russian artists Dmitry Nikolaevich Kardovsky (1866-1943) and Mikhail Sergeevich Bashilov (1821-1870).
