Mikhail Illarionovich Kutuzov became famous for liberating Russia from Napoleon's troops. The Battle of Borodino became an indestructible proof of his military genius. The Russian commander managed to anticipate all the enemy's attacks and defeat the outnumbered French army. However, his first steps in the military field are no less significant. Kutuzov proved himself brilliantly in resisting the uprisings in Poland and in the bloody war with the Turks. This book became one of the first works where the exploits of the great Russian commander are described in detail. The author was closely acquainted with Kutuzov, so he had the opportunity to collect a wealth of factual and documentary material during the field marshal's lifetime.
