"The Secret Adviser to the Leader" is a sensational book. For many years, the wise military staff officer Lukashov has become a loyal adviser to the head of state, endowed with the exclusive right to always express his own opinion to him without risking incurring his wrath. According to historian V. V. Sukhodeev, this character was created based on the biography of P. A. Ermolin, who became Stalin's adviser in 1940.
