Leather-bound book "The History of the special Services of the Russian Empire"

Special services have existed for as long as states themselves have existed: any strong government is based on protecting the state from threats from external and internal enemies. The special services of the Russian Empire (the Secret Chancellery, a separate corps of Gendarmes, a Security department, and Counterintelligence) have ensured the security of the state and the strength of the throne for more than three centuries. The book presents unique documents and memoirs of the heads of secret departments of Tsarist Russia, the forerunners of today's FSB, GRU and SVR, from the time of Peter the Great to the beginning of the 20th century. The book will present you with a whole gallery of portraits and fates of Russian "guardians" - from the well-known Dubelt and Benkendorf to much more closed and mysterious people, through whose efforts the Russian state has withstood the most difficult trials.
