“Alexander Rodchenko. 1920-1930s” is the third book in a series of author's monographs of the joint publishing program of the Lumiere Gallery and the Still Art Foundation.
The pages of the new edition feature photographs from the collection of the Foundation, accompanied by comments by art historian and grandson of Alexander Rodchenko Alexander Nikolaevich Lavrentiev.
The book opens with an introductory speech by art historian and great-granddaughter of Alexander Rodchenko Ekaterina Lavrentieva.
The book includes legendary works by Alexander Rodchenko from different years, starting from the first photographic experiments of the 1920s to the end of the 1930s from two portfolios of the museum series. The first section presents Rodchenko's avant-garde experiments of the 1920s-1930s (“Classics").
The second section of the book includes portraits of the family of Alexander Rodchenko and his close circle from the creative intelligentsia: Vladimir Mayakovsky, Lilya Brik, Varvara Stepanova, Osip Brik, Lyubov Popova, Lev Kuleshov and others.
