This book is a debt of memory, as a sign of gratitude to the unfading feat of our fathers and grandfathers. We strove to make this book a real masterpiece worthy of being kept in a museum, because we consider it extremely important and relevant so that examples of selfless service to the Fatherland would not be forgotten. Why have we chosen marshals to personify the hardest and at the same time glorious wartime? Because the marshals planned and put into practice grandiose troop movements, lightning attacks by tank armadas, encirclement and destruction of thousands of enemy groups. It is the marshals who stand at the origins of the Victory that the entire Soviet people won. The names of the Soviet marshals personified victory over the enemy.
