A modern illustrated reprint of the 1898 book "Fundamentals of Russian Military Art", written by Nikolai Petrovich Mikhnevich, a major researcher of military affairs, professor of the Nikolaev Academy of the General Staff. Mikhnevich did not set himself the task of giving a complete overview of the achievements of Russian commanders. He sought to show the peculiarity of the approach of Russian military leaders to the leadership of armies in comparison with how it was carried out by their European colleagues. Therefore, the analysis of battles and military campaigns of Russia is combined in this book with an analysis of some Western European battles and wars, which made it possible for the author to dispel the myth of centuries-old backwardness of Russians in the field of military art in a very reasoned way.
Russian Russian military art To create a more complete panorama of the Russian military art in this edition, the work of N.P. Mikhnevich is supplemented by descriptions of some of the victories of Russian weapons made by other authors. There is a dictionary of military terms at the end of the book.
