The Poseidon broadsword made of Damascus steel is an exceptional piece of weapons art that embodies naval power, myth and Zlatoust craftsmanship. The blade is elongated with the precision of a ritual blade, and on its surface there is a multi—layered ornament inlaid with gold, silver, and blackening. The handle is decorated with a shining guard of complex shape in the form of an open shell or sea wave, framing the handle made of white skate leather with engraved details. The scabbard has been transformed into a rich painting — they depict sailboats, mermaids, anchors, elements of a naval battle, framed by fantastic swirls, crystals, garnets and shining drops, as if taken from the crests of sea foam.
The technique of execution — Zlatoust engraving — is brought to the highest degree of expressiveness in this work. All images are made with filigree precision, including blackening, gilding, nickel plating and inlaid stones. The ornaments of the scabbard and blade unfold into complex heraldic and mythological scenes, referring to maritime glory, travel, and the discovery of new horizons. A laurel wreath with a trident is engraved on the blade, a symbol of victory and naval power, framed by a Zlatoust pattern resembling whirlpools. Each element here is not just a decor, but an image saturated with allusions.
This broadsword is not a tribute to the fashion of weapons, but a sign of the exceptional position and taste of the owner. It is appropriate as a representative gift to an admiral, a statesman or a collector who is able to read the language of symbols in its decor. In a noble wood case with a burgundy velvet lining, it is perceived as gifts from the ancient seas, as a mythical artifact endowed with historical and artistic value.
The weapon has a decorative purpose.
