A formidable, completely merciless–looking, dexterous and graceful beast, the snow leopard, adorns a saber made according to traditional technologies of the masters of Zlatoust and at the same time differs in its artistic features from the already familiar Zlatoust products.
The reliable Damascus blade, almost not covered with gold engraving, plays with its natural gray-silver moire pattern, emphasizing the rigor and masculinity of the weapon. The boxwood carved handle in Oriental style, decorated with sky-blue topaz, cabochons of lapis lazuli, turquoise and blue agate, sits deftly in a hand protected by a guard, the cut details and an abundance of faceted stones visually make the handle light and delicate. An oval lapis lazuli cabochon in the center of the crosspiece plays the role of a medallion – in the recess under it you can put a curl of your beloved, which the owner of the saber swore to protect. The leather scabbard, with its noble whiteness with bluish reflections of topaz resembling mountain snow, as if slightly supported by a gilded openwork border decorated with turquoise and lapis lazuli, are only the background for the hunting scene unfolding in front of us: a snow leopard looks out from behind a saber guard, as if from behind a rock, all spring-loaded, ready to throw; The frightened vazhenki flee, and only the leader, a deer, already mortally wounded, prepares to protect his family at the cost of his life. The filigree realistic animal figures are artfully enameled.
