The author's oil painting "Zamoskvorechye" is not just a memory of old Moscow, but an ode to its greatness, lively rhythm and subtle architectural harmony. The panorama opens up before the viewer like a scene from a theatrical play: on the left side there is a crowded bridge with elegant wrought—iron railings, in the center there is a monumental building with a tower slightly referring to the city watch buildings, on the right there is a majestic temple with gilded domes. In the hustle and bustle of the street, there are figures of passers—by, ladies in hats, harnessed carriages, merchants, children — every element is worked out with jewelry precision and at the same time with a free hand of painting. The foliage of autumn trees plays with flashes of ochre and carmine, the wet pavement reflects the sunset sky, painted with vibrant strokes of pink, lilac and gold. Impressionist technique finds a unique expression here: the dynamics of the streets are combined with the transparent airiness of the Moscow sky.
Alexander Viktorovich Fomin, a gallery owner and artist, deeply appreciates impressionism and demonstrates his love for this style in stunning paintings. His works reflect the essence of light and color in nature, as well as the emotions and beauty of everyday moments.
The artist was born in Moscow. Alexander Fomin took his first lessons from his older brother. The novice painter was 22 years old when he first picked up a brush. Revolving in a circle of artists and selling paintings by his older brother, Alexander takes up the brush, watching as canvases are born. He studied literally "over his shoulder", closely following his brother's work.
Feeling that he can embody his impressions and ideas on canvas, Alexander makes the first strokes. Hard work and diligence paid off: in 1992, he was invited to an exhibition in West Germany. This was an important event and an incentive to choose the profession of an impressionist painter.
The artist's favorite themes are urban landscapes, retrospectives of old streets of Paris, Moscow and German cities. Today, Alexander's works are in private collections and museums, including in the city of Emmerich (West Germany), as well as in the estate of the Leontiev nobles (descendants of Generalissimo Suvorov) and other top officials of countries and states.
This painting is intended for those who feel the soul of the city in every touch — collectors, connoisseurs of historical aesthetics and seekers of refined beauty. Zamoskvorechye will decorate an office, a formal dining room or a reception area of the residence, adding respectability, a living breath of time and a unique cultural code to the space.
