The oil painting "Ostankino Pond" is an exquisite example of Impressionist painting, permeated with light, air and tranquility of a golden summer day. The panoramic composition reveals an idyllic corner of a noble manor, surrounded by a blooming garden. The petals of irises and peonies are swaying from a barely perceptible breeze, the sun's rays, breaking through the foliage, dance on the paths, water and clothes of the characters. In the center of the stage is a family having tea on the shore of a pond, a table covered with a tablecloth, a samovar, flowers in vases, books and umbrellas in the hands of ladies give the composition a special refinement. An elegant gazebo, a boat on the surface of the water and an elegant manor house with lush flower beds in perspective emphasize the atmosphere of peace, comfort and respectability. The color of the canvas is based on light pastel shades with subtle inclusions of pink, turquoise, green and gold, creating a feeling of a mother-of-pearl glow. The brush stroke technique is dynamic, full of life — everything breathes and shimmers, as if a summer day has frozen for a moment in eternity.
Alexander Viktorovich Fomin, a gallery owner and artist, deeply appreciates impressionism and demonstrates his love for this style in stunning paintings. His works reflect the essence of light and color in nature, as well as the emotions and beauty of everyday moments.
The artist was born in Moscow. Alexander Fomin took his first lessons from his older brother. The novice painter was 22 years old when he first picked up a brush. Revolving in a circle of artists and selling paintings by his older brother, Alexander takes up the brush, watching as canvases are born. He studied literally "over his shoulder", closely following his brother's work.
Feeling that he can embody his impressions and ideas on canvas, Alexander makes the first strokes. Hard work and diligence paid off: in 1992, he was invited to an exhibition in West Germany. This was an important event and an incentive to choose the profession of an impressionist painter.
The artist's favorite themes are urban landscapes, retrospectives of old streets of Paris, Moscow and German cities. Today, Alexander's works are in private collections and museums, including in the city of Emmerich (West Germany), as well as in the estate of the Leontiev nobles (descendants of Generalissimo Suvorov) and other top officials of countries and states.
The painting is intended for those who appreciate painting not as an element of the interior, but as evidence of taste, intelligence and rootedness in cultural traditions. It will decorate the main hall of a private residence or a collection gallery, and give you a sense of belonging to a bright era filled with dignity, sophistication and peace.
