About this product
The Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God is the earliest and one of the most revered miraculous icons of the Russian Orthodox Church. According to legend, this icon was painted by the holy apostle and Evangelist Luke on a board from the table at which the Savior ate with His Most Pure Mother and righteous Joseph. Iconographically, the Vladimir icon belongs to the type of "Eleus", which means "Tenderness" in Greek. The Christ child pressed his cheek to the cheek of the Most Holy Theotokos. There is no distance between the Blessed Virgin Mary, the symbol and ideal of the human race, and God the Son, Their love is boundless. The Mother of God shows the same love to all the people for whom the Savior came to earth.
The icon has long been an integral part of the spiritual life of a believer. The holy image met a person at birth, was with him throughout his life, and saw him off on his last journey. The images of saints bring peace to the house, unite the family, help to think and act with pure thoughts.
A symbol of the Christian faith, an exclusive icon will be a beautiful and valuable gift for a Christian for birth, name day, christening, Easter, Wedding, Anniversary, general or personal holiday.
