By the middle of the 19th century, the nobility had ceased to be the only consumer of samovar products. Tea drinking in Russia has entered the everyday life of the general population. The variety of lifestyles and tastes of customers of that time brought to life a variety of samovar forms. Samovars — "cans", smooth, cylindrical in shape, have become the most widespread. In terms of cost, they were the cheapest available to a simple, poor person. It was this form that was chosen for tavern and shop samovars intended for street trade. The samovar — "turnip", elegant, nickel-plated, cost a little more expensive, and it was often called merchant's. One of the most popular forms has become a "shot glass" — the body of the samovar narrows downwards, and its thin neck resembles the stem of a glass. A samovar with a round body was called a "ball" samovar. In Tula, they were also called "Persian" — this is the form that was most often ordered to the countries of the East. Pear—shaped samovars have received a logical name - "pear". The "acorn" accordingly also resembled a similar fruit. By the way, the latter form is the most popular in modern samovars.
