An innovative clock inspired by art and historical objects, the Grenade is a compact table and mantel clock that challenges how time affects our lives, as we are often consumed by the urgent need to fill our schedules with endless tasks overwhelming our days.

The grenade is modeled after the historical MKII grenade with the M6A4C fuse, which uses a pin that is pulled to activate the explosives. Similarly, the L'Epée 1839 Grenade has a pin that simultaneously serves as a key, which, when pulled out, allows you to set the time and wind up the eight-day mechanism. The moment you pull the pin from the grenade, your mind is focused: the grenade is active, and you must focus on what is happening here and now in order to survive.

The grenade from L'Epée 1839 gives a similar effect when you pull out its pin. You can change the time to whatever you want, and by winding the winding spring, you give it the opportunity to direct that time. The watch forces the mind to focus on the moment you are in and on the task of winding and setting the time, reminding you that you are guaranteed only this very moment, so don't waste it.

The hours and minutes are displayed on two black aluminum discs rotating directly above the beating heart of the Grenade.
