Howard Miller is the oldest watch corporation in the United States. Its history began in 1926, where Howard S. Miller organized watchmaking. Since the creation of the first watches, Howard S. Howard Miller plants produce 500 floor clocks per day or more than 100,000 per year. In order to provide Howard Miller watches with the best mechanisms, in 1993 the Corporation acquired the German factory Kieninger, a well-known manufacturer of precision mechanical watch movements.
Grandfather clocks are only part of the Howard Miller Corporation range. The company also produces hundreds of models of wall, fireplace and table clocks of various designs. Their production requires about 1 million quartz movements per year.
