Lavrenty Beria was a Soviet statesman and politician, colonel-General, and associate of Joseph Stalin. He led the state security agencies of the USSR, played a key role in the development of the Soviet nuclear program and industrialization. His work is associated with both major achievements and mass repression, making him one of the most controversial figures in the history of the Soviet Union.
In the petition, demobilized Lieutenant Colonel Grigory Ivanovich Krivoshanko, who served 21 years in the Red Army, describes the difficult situation of his family. After moving to Sukhumi due to the illness of his wife and youngest child with tuberculosis, the family faced difficulties - lack of housing and work, which put them on the brink of survival. The 44-year-old officer, referring to the law on the organization of the demobilized, refers to Beria as the last hope for a solution to the problem.
