The top of the cake box is decorated with a silver pattern with a wedding monogram. The attached small faded card reads: "Best wishes from/Their Royal Highnesses / the Prince and Princess of Wales." Also attached is a copy of a telegram from the Royal Court from Charles and Diana thanking and congratulating those who performed their duties at the ceremony.
On July 29, 1981, the wedding of Prince Charles and Princess Diana took place in London. 3.5 thousand people were invited to the celebration in St. Paul's Cathedral. Queen Elizabeth II and her husband Prince Philip were the first to arrive, followed by the groom in the ceremonial uniform of a naval officer.
