The script of the film "Beverly Hills Cop" signed by actor Eddie Murphy

Eddie Murphy is an American comedian, film director, producer and singer, whose popularity peaked in the 1980s. He is best known for his role as Axl Foley in the Beverly Hills Cop franchise.

"Beverly Hills Cop" is one of the best comedy action movies of the eighties. The big box office success of the film at the box office instantly made Eddie Murphy a star of the first magnitude. The film was directed by Martin Brest, who shot the films "The Smell of a Woman" and "Meet Joe Black".

Interestingly, the most memorable lines in the film were not written into the script. They were the result of improvisation by Eddie Murphy, Judd Reinhold and John Ashton. Hundreds of takes were ruined due to laughter both in and out of the frame. The iconic monologue of the "Super Police", which the main character Axel utters at the police station, was one of many scenes invented right on the set. Eddie Murphy was severely exhausted during filming, and besides, he was a man who rarely consumed caffeine. Eventually, under the influence of the film crew, he gave up, and after a few sips of coffee, his monologue was improvised on the spot.
