Bob Gale is a screenwriter, director and one of the two authors of the Back to the Future universe.

The 88mph (88 mph) designation, written in the director's handwriting, is the legendary top speed of the DeLorean time machine.

Initially, according to the plot of the film, Doc Brown was supposed to make a time machine out of an ordinary refrigerator, but the script was rewritten and the DeLorean DMC-12 car was used as the basis. At the time of filming, the car looked modern and stylish, besides the stainless steel body gave it the appearance of a spaceship. Even the hero of the film Doc Brown himself said: "If you build a time machine into a car, it's better to put it in a stylish one."
