On February 1, 2018, the Italian actress received a named star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles.
In 1961, at the Moscow International Film Festival, Gina Lollobrigida met Yuri Gagarin. The shot of her kissing an astronaut went around the world. According to Gina, Yuri told her something like, "You're brighter than any star I've seen there."
