The real name of the actress is Claude Josephine Rose Cardinale, she was born in Tunisia in a family of Italian origin. Claudia was very attractive, although she did not recognize her own beauty. At the age of 17, she won a beauty contest, winning the title of the most beautiful Italian woman in Tunisia. Soon she was invited to the Venice Film Festival, where she met her future producer, Franco Cristaldi, with whom she worked for many years in the future. He offered her to go to Rome and sign a contract with his film company.

In the Soviet Union, Claudia Cardinale was loved no less than in Italy. She visited Moscow for the first time in 1967, when she came to the V Moscow International Film Festival. A year later, the actress returned to filming - in Mikhail Kalatozov's film "The Red Tent".
