Mikhail Zadornov is a satirical writer, playwright and essayist.
An asteroid discovered in September 1974 by astronomer Lyudmila Chernykh is named in honor of Mikhail Zadornov. The name "5043 Zadornov" was not assigned immediately, initially it was given only a number.
Later, the discoverer entered an entry in English into the international database, which is translated as follows: "Named after Mikhail Nikolaevich Zadornov, a Russian satirist widely known for his masterful reading of his own stories." However, the exact date of the renaming remained unknown: it is only reported that the asteroid card on the NASA website was last updated in 2010.
