A large, 80-centimeter sea turtle made of suar wood looks realistic; most likely, Indonesian craftsmen created a figurine from nature, observing one of the sea turtles swimming near the islands and occasionally coming ashore.

The turtle has a smooth, ergonomic shell that allows these animals to feel great underwater and swim much faster than their land-based counterparts. Instead of paws, the sea turtle has large flat flippers, which the woodcarver decorated with scales. The turtle has a large head, beady black eyes and, like all turtles, a small triangular tail. The turtle is made of suar wood, which means it is not afraid of moisture, splashes, or raindrops.
