According to this prediction, the Mother of God had to endure such suffering that, like a weapon, would pierce her soul. The number of arrows or swords depicted is not accidental, since the number seven has its own symbolism in Christianity, meaning the fullness of something (on the icon of the Virgin it is the fullness of suffering). In front of the "Seven-arrow" icon, it is customary to pray for reconciliation of the warring parties and softening of the cruel heart. The celebration of the Semistrelnaya icon takes place on August 26 in a new style.
