Icon with precious stones "Our Lady of Kazan" The icon is made by thermopolygraphy and decorated with a scattering of colored decorative stones, in particular pearls, zirconium and cubic zirconia. The harmonious combination of colors inside the composition, the complex arrangement of stones give the icon a special expressiveness. While working on the icon, the master scrupulously worked out all the smallest details of the image, which made it possible to create a magnificent, detailed composition. The icon is decorated in accordance with Orthodox canons, in the best traditions of ancient icon painting. The icon of the Kazan Mother of God is considered one of the most revered in the Orthodox world. They pray before the icon for the welfare of the family and salvation. The icon of the Kazan Mother of God blesses the future married couple to the crown. The Most Holy Theotokos has long been glorified in Russia in numerous miraculous images. But none of the icons has as many lists as the Kazan icon. She is most often looked at in troubles and illnesses, and many temples have been erected in honor of this icon throughout Russia. The Kazan icon of the Mother of God appeared in the city of Kazan 25 years after the conquest of the Kazan Khanate by Tsar John the Terrible. It was difficult to preach the faith among Muslims and pagans. The Most Holy Theotokos was not slow to send Heavenly help to the preachers, revealing Her miraculous icon. On June 28, 1579, a terrible fire destroyed part of the city and reduced half of the Kazan Kremlin to ashes. The fire in Kazan was an omen of the final fall of Islam and the establishment of Orthodoxy throughout the Golden Horde land. The city soon began to rise from the ruins. The Mother of God appeared to the nine-year-old daughter of Sagittarius Danil Onuchin in a dream vision and ordered Her to get Her icon, buried in the ground by secret confessors of Orthodoxy even under the rule of Muslims. As a result, the icon was found, and Archbishop Jeremiah arrived at the place of the miraculous finding and transferred the image to the nearest temple, from where, after the prayer service, the icon with the Procession was transferred to the Annunciation Cathedral. Soon the icon became a national shrine, a sign of the Heavenly protection of the Mother of God, revealed to the entire Russian Church. For several decades, Russian missionary explorers traveled many thousands of kilometers to the east and in 1639 set sail for the first time.
