About this product
Art. : 131-822

The new collection from the "Fashion History" series produced at the IFZ is called "Dandy" and includes six tea pairs on the "Coat of Arms" uniform, created at the factory in the middle of the 19th century and restored according to a museum model from the collection of the State Hermitage Museum.

The combination of snow-white porcelain with colored drawings in the form of antique fashionable illustrations of the 19th century from the maestro's personal collection gives the tea pairings a ceremonial look and a modern sound. Today, these engravings depicting and briefly describing the outfits of that time, hand-painted in watercolor, are a bibliographic rarity and invaluable historical evidence of a bygone era. The variety of images embodied on cups and saucers will allow you to assemble an exclusive and complete collection that can be used both as a ceremonial service and as a miniature "tete-a-tete".

The owners of the works of art from the new series will get aesthetic pleasure from tea drinking and acquired knowledge in the field of fashion history, the opportunity to travel back to the past of imperial Russia – an era when nepotism and traditions were put at the forefront, when family heirlooms, including porcelain, were passed down from generation to generation.

The tradition of artistic search at the Imperial Porcelain Factory originated in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The involvement of the artists of the Mir Iskusstvo association Valentin Serov, Konstantin Somov, Evgeny Lancere and Sergey Chekhonin made it possible to open an independent "author's" line and expand the range of the company's products.

A tea cup and saucer "Modes de Paris 1820" on the "Coat of Arms" form from the "Dandy" collection, created as part of a joint project with the famous fashion historian Alexander Vasiliev. The "Coat of Arms" uniform has been restored according to the museum model.

Attempts to find her out were punishable by death. However, porcelain, first exported to Asian countries, and by the XVI century to Europe, was valued above gold. Scientists and masters from all over the world struggled to reveal his secret. The complex technology of mixing porcelain mass, which includes kaolin, quartz and mica, and no less complex roasting are just the basics learned from the Chinese. Japanese, Florentine, and Prussian porcelain manufactories added something of their own to this base, obtaining, although different from the prototype, but beautiful porcelain in its own way.
