Already the fashion of the mid-19th century was characterized by a transition from pretentiousness to simpler and more practical clothes. The idea of the liberation of women and the fascination with the East, fashionable during this period, led to the fact that the fair sex abandoned the corset and everything that restrained movement.
At the end of the 19th century, a new type of dress for everyday life was created - with a flared skirt and wide sleeves. Now similar models are used to create evening or wedding dresses. The skirt-trousers, which appeared in the 1830s, became firmly in fashion at the end of the XIX century.
Until the 20th century, horse riding was the only type of active female recreation. With the rapid development of technology and the breaking of social stereotypes, a bicycle, lawn tennis classes and, finally, a car entered a woman's life. In order to feel comfortable and keep up with life, fundamentally new clothes were required, which differed from everything that had been before. The skirts became shorter and allowed the fair sex to move freely, while maintaining their natural grace and charm.
Women began to boldly borrow elements of men's costume: jackets, ties and neckerchiefs. So in the 1910s, a prototype of the modern business women's suit was created. At the same time, a coat appeared in the women's wardrobe, which acquired a completely modern look. Its predecessor was a long men's jacket.
At any time, women were interested and are interested not only in fashion trends. The alternation of elegant illustrations and lines that have become examples of Russian poetry helps to feel the fragrance of time and penetrate into the mysterious world of the female soul.
Flipping through the pages of the album, you will notice elements of modern clothing in the models of a century ago and once again make sure that the truth is right: "What has been, will be; and what has been done, will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun."
