Lao Tzu's philosophical treatise "The Book of the Way and Power", the teachings of Confucius, collected by students from his sayings and a collection of BUSHIDO instructions, which is the unspoken code of the samurai of ancient Japan, form the basis of classical Chinese and Japanese philosophy. At first glance, the books are completely different, written at different times, in different countries, nevertheless they are united by a common concept - following the Path.
There are many interpretations of the concept of Path and attempts to define it, but none fully reflects, and cannot reflect its essence. Lao Tzu, who is the founder of Taoism or the philosophy of the Path, chose the character Tao only to denote this concept, saying at the same time: "The path that can be traversed is not the true Path. A name that can be called is not a true Name." For Lao Tzu, the Path was the source of everything in the world, a universal harmony that puts everything living and inanimate in order, having neither beginning nor end. The path cannot be traversed, but it is possible to follow it, that is, to be in harmony with this world without trying to forcibly change it.
