Napoleon Bonaparte (1769-1821), thanks to the French Revolution and the efforts of writers, managed to become a historical figure on a grand scale. This was the first "self-made man" among the great conquerors and rulers. He felt himself to be an instrument of Providence (and therefore, like Caesar, he spoke of himself in the third person), and considered victory to be the "best speaker" (and therefore did not like ranting). This book will allow the reader to look, if not into the soul, then into the consciousness of this ruler and connoisseur of people, to find out what he thought about them, as well as about the affairs of war and peace.
The publication is illustrated with reproduced engravings, lithographs and drawings of the Napoleonic era.
