Assofoto is the abbreviation of the Association of Photochemical Enterprises of the COMECON Countries. Assofoto united many different enterprises in socialist countries engaged in recording information on photochemical media, primarily photographic and videotape.
The largest Russian (formerly Soviet) company belonging to Assofoto is Tasma (Tatar Photosensitive Materials), which has been producing photographic film since 1933 to the present day.
A wide variety of printed products were produced under the Assofoto logo, including calendars, photo albums, music cassette boxes, candy inserts, for example, and much more.
The collection includes a photo album released on the occasion of the Olympic Games-80 in Moscow by the PHOEBE Film Factory Wolfen, a photo chemical plant of the GDR. This photo album not only documents the events of the Olympics and the atmosphere of Moscow in 1980, but also shows the possibilities of the film produced under the Assofoto logo. The photo captures sports events, Moscow's sights, as well as panoramic views and even the daily life of ordinary citizens.
