Cher is an American singer and film actress of Armenian descent, winner of Grammy and Billboard Music Awards, four prestigious Golden Globe and Oscar film awards. In addition, she is the only artist whose songs have occupied the top lines of the Billboard top 100 list for 5 decades in a row. The singer is known not only as a pop singer, but also as a songwriter and music producer.
"Love Hurts" is the twenty—first studio album by the singer, recorded on June 11, 1991 on the Geffen Records label. Already in August of the same year, the American Recording Studio Association certified the album as Gold. The main single from the album was the song "Love and Understanding".
In 1982, Cher moved to New York to participate in the Broadway production of "Come to the Meeting at Five, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean." After positive reviews from critics about her acting, Mike Nichols offered her a role in the film "Silkwood". When Cher found out that Meryl Streep was playing the main role, she agreed without even reading the script. For this role, she received an Oscar nomination.
