The cycle of short stories "Extraordinary stories from the life of the city of Kolokolamsk" was published in several issues of the magazine "Chudak" in 1928-1929 by the authors under the pseudonym "F. Tolstoyevsky".
The appendix contains the chapter "The Past of the Registrar of the Registry Office", which was first published in the magazine "30 Days" in 1929 as an independent story, not included in the main text of the novel "Twelve Chairs".
The magnificent illustrations for this edition were made by Olga Grablevskaya, the winner of the Lermontov 2014 professional artists competition.
