Sometimes he is called a surrealist of his time, who drew the subjects of his paintings from the depths of the subconscious, just as in the method of free associations a person extracts images and thoughts from there.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>The combination of dream and reality, the absurd and the logical, the naturalistic and the symbolic is characteristic of both Freud's theory and Hieronymus Bosch's paintings.
