The fame of the Uglich masters has been going on since the 18th century. Tower clocks with the gospel were made here for churches of the Russian Empire and other countries. Some of them still delight residents of the town on the border of Bulgaria and Romania.
In Soviet times, the history of the legendary Chaika factory begins with the assembly of the Zvezda watch, whose rightful successor was the plant.
