The Stargift collection features a wine card signed by Ernest Hemingway. In the summer of 1933, the writer was on his way to Spain for a bullfight and signed this card on the ship. Signed: "E Hemingway" in pencil, dated August 15, 1933.
Ernest Hemingway is an American writer, war correspondent, and winner of the 1954 Nobel Prize in Literature. Hemingway received wide recognition thanks to his novels and numerous short stories, on the one hand, and his life full of adventures and surprises, on the other.
The American classic was not shy about expressing his love for wine and alcohol in general. His quote is widely known that he regrets that he did not drink more wine in his life. Hemingway appreciated Bordeaux and Burgundy wines – his taste was excellent. In his works, for example, the Château Margaux is often mentioned. And in one of his letters, he advised his sister Marceline to visit the Paris cafe on the Place de la Bastille and drink this wine there.: "Just for Christ's sake, don't tell anyone about this place–there are only five magnums left. Otherwise, all their wines are good. Try Margot (red bordeaux). And don't forget to tell the sommelier that you are my sister."
