About this product
Art.: 227-363

Holy Prince Peter, in monastic life David. And the Holy Blessed Princess Fevronia, Euphrosyne in monastic life, the Murom miracle workers. The blessed Prince Peter was the second son of Prince Yuri Vladimirovich of Murom. He ascended the throne of Murom in 1203. A few years before, Saint Peter fell ill with leprosy, from which no one could cure him. In a dream vision, it was revealed to the prince that the daughter of a beekeeper, the pious virgin Fevronia, a peasant from the village of Laskovaya in the Ryazan land, could heal him. Fevronia, as payment for the treatment, wished the prince to marry her after healing. Fevronia healed the prince, but he did not keep his word, because Fevronia was a commoner. The disease resumed, Fevronia cured the prince again, and he married her.

The holy couple became famous for their piety and mercy. They died on the same day and hour on June 25, 1228, having previously taken monastic vows with the names David and Euphrosyne. The bodies of the saints were laid in one coffin.
Saints Peter and Fevronia are an example of Christian matrimony. With their prayers, they bring down the heavenly blessing on those who are getting married.

Patronage of the saint: "They pray to these saints for peace and well-being in the family, as holy spouses who have worthily carried their cross through their whole lives. The faithful Peter and Fevronia of Murom bestow a heavenly blessing on those who marry.
