The depiction of animals and birds in painting and plastic is one of the oldest traditions of European artistic porcelain. The animalistic theme has been present in the works of artists and sculptors of the Imperial Porcelain Factory since Elizabethan times. The rich collection has been formed over the years by such famous authors as Ivan Riznich, Boris Vorobyov, Pavel Veselov, Vladimir Zhbanov. Today it has been supplemented by new works by our modern masters – Nelly Petrova, Anatoly Danilov, Galina Belash, Anna Trofimova, Marina Nikolskaya and others.
In the work of N.L. Petrova, the main artist of the IFZ, the theme of Russian nature occupies a significant place. It is an inexhaustible source of inspiration, a big world filled with events that give people extremely vivid impressions. Soft undertones, harmonious coloring, eternally beautiful nature surrounded by silence and peace create an idyllic picture of the world, imbued with the warmth of memories, a reverent and tender attitude to the nature of those places where the artist spent her childhood and youth. Wild ducks, realistically depicted on all products, combine objects into a single ensemble. The basis of the compositional solution is a wide blue layering, symbolizing water, and a motif of marsh plants, berries and flowers present on each object.
The author's vision, the highest craftsmanship, dynamic, artistic painting, the general idea and color scheme, the use of gold in the decor combine all objects into a single ensemble, harmonious, solemn, magical, like nature itself, make this service a unique work of genuine art and an elite example of modern author's porcelain.
The Kostroma uniform was created by the company's leading artist Tatyana Afanasyeva in 2011 after a trip to Russian cities. The beauty of nature, the grandeur and beauty of the monuments of ancient Russian architecture are reflected in the appearance of the objects. The name combines two images – Kostroma, the Slavic deity of spring, personifying the life–giving forces of nature, and the ancient Russian city.
