On June 2, 1998, a friendly match between Spartak (Moscow) and Dynamo (Kiev) took place in Moscow at the Luzhniki Stadium.
The head coach of Spartak was the famous Nikita Simonyan, a Soviet and Russian football player, football coach and football functionary. Simonyan is the best scorer in the history of the Spartak club (Moscow) with 160 goals, and is also the team's top scorer in national championship matches with 133 goals. In 1956, he became an Olympic champion with the national team, and two years later he played at the debut World Championship for the USSR, where he was captain.
The program also features autographs of real legends of Spartak clubs — Rinat Dasaev, Stanislav Cherchesov, Sergei Rodionov and Dynamo — Oleg Blokhin.
Rinat Dasaev (Spartak) is a Soviet football goalkeeper, Honored Master of Sports of the USSR. During the USSR Football Championship, Rinat Dasaev kept his goal intact in 16 out of 30 matches played. So for a decade, Dasaev became the undisputed No. 1 of Spartak and the national team. He was distinguished by his ability to choose the right position in the goal, extraordinary jumping ability and fantastic reaction. He came up with an innovation in goalkeeping — throwing feet first, which sometimes allowed him to save time and help out the team.
Stanislav Cherchesov (Spartak) is the head coach of the Russian national football team, Soviet and Russian football player, goalkeeper, Honored Master of Sports of Russia. Cherchesov kept the bar high until the last: at the age of 36, he played in the Russian national team (in a friendly game with Israel). It should be noted that Stanislav Cherchesov is a knight of the Order of Alexander Nevsky.
Oleg Blokhin (Dynamo)— Soviet and Ukrainian football player, striker and football coach. Blokhin holds all the records of Soviet football: the number of matches in the USSR championships (432), goals scored in the USSR championships (211), the number of goals scored in the USSR Cup (30), the number of matches for the USSR first national team (112) and goals scored (42).
Sergey Rodionov (Spartak) is a Soviet and Russian football player, striker, coach, football functionary, master of sports of the USSR of international class. Sergei made his debut in the main national team in 1980, in a friendly game against the Hungarian national team. Ours won 4-1, and it was Sergei Yuryevich Rodionov who scored one of the goals against the Hungarian national team. Currently, Sergey Yuryevich is the president of the F. F. Cherenkov Spartak Academy.
On June 2, 1998, 32,000 spectators at the Luzhniki Stadium in the Russian capital applauded the "stars" of the 1980s. Of course, it was a matter of honor for the Moscow Spartacists to take revenge on Dynamo for the defeat in Kiev – 1:3. That's what happened — Spartak won, the match ended 3-2 in favor of Spartak.
