The Monomakh hat is the main royal hat of the grand dukes and tsars, a symbol of autocracy in Russia.
It is one of the oldest regalia of the Armory of the Moscow Kremlin. Externally, it is a headdress with a sable edge, decorated with pearls and precious stones, crowned with a cross.
In Russia, the hemispherical shape of a cap with a fringe symbolized the sky and the sun. The upward-pointing tip "connected" the wearer with his ancestors and legitimized his power through connection with the divine.
The "Monomakh Cap" is an approximate copy of the original Monomakh Cap, kept in the Armory of the Moscow Kremlin. The top of the hat is made of landscape amber in the style of Florentine mosaic.
Materials:natural landscape amber, polished gilded brass, sable fur.
Sizes: 25 × 25 × 25 cm.
