The book is about the history of Russian hunting, types of hunting, as well as ways of hunting forest birds and large forest animals.

The publication is illustrated with works by Russian artists. In preparing the publication, the texts of articles from the “Encyclopedic Dictionary” edited by K. K. Arsenyev and F. F. Petrushevsky, publishers F. A. Brockhaus and I. A. Efron, St. Petersburg, 1890-1904 were used; hunting works by M. P. Vavilov; texts from the book by V. P. Butromeev “Beliefs and traditions of the Russian people.”

The book is about the history of Russian hunting, types of hunting, as well as ways of hunting forest birds and large forest animals.
