Dmitry Klochkov's book is dedicated to a well-known but little-studied elite unit of the Russian Guard, His Imperial Majesty's Own convoy. Many years have passed, and none of the guards are alive anymore, but we are returning to the glorious traditions of the Imperial Guard more and more often. Created for political purposes, this military unit has left a significant mark not only in the court life of St. Petersburg, but also in the military history of Russia.
A significant part of the study is devoted to the description of uniforms, weapons and regalia of the convoy. These attributes were present for each Guards regiment, supporting its corporate identity. Most of the materials contained in the book were not used in the open press. The book contains photographs of authentic items of uniforms, weapons, awards, reproductions of paintings and drawings, copies of orders, and author's reconstructions.
