The Battle of Poltava Medal is dedicated to the Battle of Poltava, which took place on June 27 (July 8), 1709.
In this battle, the Russian army under the command of Peter I won a convincing victory over the Swedes. It was the most brilliant military triumph of Peter the Great's time.
The obverse of the medal depicts a fragment of the Lomonosov mosaic "The Battle of Poltava", made using gilding.
This fragment represents a dynamic scene – the moment of victory over the Swedes. The name of the medal and the year of the Battle of Poltava are indicated at the bottom of the medal.
On the reverse side there is a relief image of St. George the Victorious in gilding on the background of a composition composed of various elements of military equipment and weapons.
At the top is the name of the collection, at the bottom is the brand trademark, the Imperial logo, a combined brand and a unique number.
